Langhorne Harvest Day 2022
October 29, 2022

Once again the 69th was invited to send a team of members to participate in the large outdoor festival in Langhorne Pa. The end of October sees thousands of visitors from Bucks County and Southern New Jersey walk the streets of the town which is lined with hundreds of canopy tents, booths and food sellers celebrating the opening of the Fall season. Each year the 69th representatives talk with visitor about the goals and projects of the “Irish Volunteer” regiment; sell our shirts, books and solicit support for our gravestone project.

Despite threats of all day rainstorms, this year on Saturday October 30th, the brave band put up their tables and raised their flags and banners and taught Civil War history. A number of descendants of soldiers who fought with the original 69th Pa stopped by to visit and by the end of the day another $500 was raised in sales and contributions. A special “thank You” is given to Flag Sergeant David O’Daniel for bringing his tent and setting up a “Visiting Center” for adults and kids alike. Once again conversations continued throughout the day. A successful day of recruitment of new members and new funding for our gravestone project was the result.
