Bridesburg Memorial Day Parade, Philadelphia PA

Each Memorial Day the neighborhood of Bridesburg in Philadelphia welcomes the 69th Pa to one of the oldest Memorial Day Parades in the area. Each year the crowds cheer as we march with our battle flags waving in the wind firing volleys of musket fire into the air.
The long parade winds through a well kept area of the city which flies the American Flag from almost every home and prides itself on cleanly scrubbed front steps leading into the homes of residents. Both residents and returning families who grew up in Bridesburg line the sidewalks and cheer.
Once again the 69th honored those who died serving their country in wars around the world and at home.
